Squirrel's New Year's Resolution
The ebullient squirrel from Substitute Groundhog is back with many of her friends from the Hidey Hole Diner. Squirrel is on a quest to find out how to make her own resolution for the New Year. From Mole to Porcupine, all the animals seem to have resolutions but her. Children will enjoy the humor and the surprise ending.

Substitute Groundhog
Groundhog develops flu just before Groundhog Day and holds try-outs. Mole can’t see his shadow. Eagle’s wingspread won’t fit underground. Bear falls asleep, and hyperactive Squirrel can’t stop popping up and down. Groundhog loses hope until a strange visitor from Texas steps up. Can she do the job?

We're Going on a Book Hunt
This book uses endearing animals, an action chorus with hand motions, and bouncy rhymes to show readers how to use the library. Ms. Bear teaches her cub students how to select a “just right” book, use shelf markers, turn pages, and other library procedures.

Ms. Duncan and her first grade teaching team at Winslow Elementary, Henrietta, NY, incorporated We're Going on a Book Hunt into a chant and Voicethread lesson on "I-Pick", how to choose a just right book. Check out the second slide to see some cute first graders chant the chorus to the book.

Library Monkeys
Library Monkeys is published on large 11 x 17 inch cards with the illustration facing the group, and the text on the back (with a thumbnail picture). The bouncy chant is similar to the traditional "Five Little Monkeys" and makes for a fun and active introduction to caring for books.
