Storytelling Programs

Programs include folktales, participatory stories, humor, and more. The oral tradition still fascinates our high-tech students, and often creates a demand for stories from the library.

Anansi Through the Ages Three Anansi tales are shared as they might have been from over the centuries. The first, A Story, A Story is traditional storytelling and includes African instruments. The second, Anansi and the Moss-Covered Rock, is told with puppets. The third, Anansi's Feast, is presented with technology.

Giggle Tales  Action and laughter will have students eager to retell The Squeaky Door, Sody Salleratus, Little Bunny Foo Foo, and more.

Critter Tales Learn about countries like Nigeria, Mexico, and Australia with Anansi and the Moss-Covered Rock, Tiddalick and the Drought, and Bossy Gallito.

Hungry Tales Tummies may rumble after hearing Stone Soup, Mama Provi and the Pot of Rice, and Teeny Tiny.

Testimonials
I wanted to tell you how much my kids enjoyed your storytelling performance this evening. My son bought one of your books afterwards. He is dyslexic and hates to read. So the fact that he wanted to get your book says a lot. We read it as soon as we got home!                                           --Melanie C., Campbell Elementary, Richmond, TX

I thought your visit was great! It was obvious from the very beginning of your presentation that you love children and have a real passion for providing them with a quality experience.           --Heather Hess, Librarian, Hawley, PA

We were all laughing, even my toddler.                                                     --parent at Meador Library "Giggle Tales"
