Testimonials from the 2015 NF 4 NF Conference:
I Came Back
NF 4 NF keeps getting better, and it's the best investment I've made in my writing career. This conference and the wonderful faculty really helped me develop and hone my tools to write a quality manuscript. It is a conference with an intimate family feel. The small group forms a cohort that is so supportive and might be the best part of the conference. There are people supporting you BEYOND the conference and cheering for your success. --Erin Ball (returning) "Elbow to elbow learning" This conference is absolutely the best learning, and growing experience for my writing career, with connections to peer and professional writers that will be lifetime assets. --Damon Dean (returning) Superlative! This is the most friendly, accessible, applicable writing conference I have ever attended. --Rosie Taylor (returning) Perfect for me This conference was like "where have you been all my life?" for enlightenment and encouragement. EVERY talk was wonderful and useful. --Mary Riser (returning) It's All Here NF 4 NF gave me exactly what I signed up for--a terrific overview of the nonfiction children's book landscape, detailed tips and tools to assist my writing, and unparalleled access to top notch faculty. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enter this genre of children's literature. --Traci Sorell Here's what attendees had to say about the 2014 NF 4 NF Conference:
Perfect for New Authors When I became a stay-at-home mom, I finally had the opportunity to pursue my dream of writing. But every blog, book, and webinar reminded just how little I knew about the market. Did I have a completed NF PB MS? Was I writing a PB, or did I prefer MG / YA? Had I participated in PiBoIdMo? Was I a member of SCWBI? The acronyms themselves overwhelmed me! When registering for Nonfiction for New Folks, I explained to Pat Miller just how NEW of a Folk I actually was. She convinced me that the conference would be a perfect fit. And she was right. The learning sessions were deliberately designed to ensure even the newbie like me had a strong understanding of what it means to delve into the nonfiction world. Each minute was precisely planned to encourage a strong community and network to be built throughout the weekend. Attending NF4NF has inspired the direction of my writing career. And for that I’m very grateful. --Shena Ashcraft New Convert
This conference definitely inspired me to keep going after the conference. This was my baptism into the nonfiction world. I've definitely experienced a conversion. I'm energized and motivated to finish my NF manuscript and start two more. --Erin Ball |

I attended NF4NF with the sense that it would define whether I continue to be a writer or just give up and go on to a different life. Now I know I must continue [as a writer]! Each part of the conference seemed to be orchestrated just to speak to me and what I needed. --Rosie Taylor Benefits past the conference
I loved the fact that this conference was targeted at nonfiction! I've learned so much about writing quality nonfiction and been given lots of tools to ensure my writing is as good as it can be. Not only was this an excellent conference full of useful information, but as you had hoped, I met so many wonderful people I want to keep in touch with and form a critique group with. --Anne Gengler Friends, Connections, Action List
"I'm a believer!" This weekend has been perfect for me as a "new folk" in the writing world.
